Helping you deliver Arts and Culture

Who is “Culture Business”?

Fiona Mitchell-Innes, arts and museums specialist

I have worked  in the arts and museums for more years than I care to admit, but it as spanned over 25 years in a variety of settings.

My career has included senior roles at The Natural History Museum, Arts Council England and in consultancy roles for regional galleries and theatres.

Although I have worked in a number of specialisms my passion and expertise is in working with managers and teams to create a more effective  and fulfilling business. This can be done by creating clear and understood objectivesthat everyone agrees to, developing real relationships that bring real benefits, creating the right communication and advocacy plans for organisations, and mentoring and training staff so they can be the best they can be for your business.

Many find it hard to think of their museum or gallery or arts organisation as a business – but by doing so we can unlock the potential of your team – and the commitment of your partners. We all know the challenges we can face everyday – another grant to be chased, another stakeholder to engage, another team to keep inspired, another project to set up. The list is never ending.

If you need support in any of these areas then I may be the person to help you – and I am always  happy to explore ideas informally.

For those who like to know about qualifications I have

  • a Masters in Museum and Gallery Management fro City University
  • a Public Relations Diploma from the Certified Institute of Public Relations
I am also trained in leadership development, managing change effectively, facilitation, mentoring and coaching and project management.
